Today's Agent Skill: The Friday Status Report Drafter
What It Does
It's Friday at 4 PM. You shipped real work this week, and the proof is scattered across a task app, three chat threads, and a notes file. This skill turns all of it into one page your manager can read in two minutes, with outcomes first, blockers named, and decisions asked for directly.
How It Works
The agent sorts your raw inputs into four buckets: Shipped, In Progress, Blocked, and noise. Then it rewrites each shipped item as an outcome instead of an activity. Give it last week's report too and it flags anything that slipped or quietly disappeared. It never invents a date or a number. Gaps get marked, not filled.
How to Deploy It
Save the block below as SKILL.md in a folder named weekly-status-report inside your agent's skills directory (for Claude Code, that's ~/.claude/skills/). Restart the agent, paste in your week's notes, and say "draft my status report."

# Weekly Status Report Drafter
## Description
Converts scattered weekly inputs into a one-screen status report. Leads with outcomes, surfaces risks early, and asks for decisions explicitly.
## Trigger
Run when the user says "draft my status report," "weekly update," or "what did I ship this week," or on a Friday afternoon schedule.
## Input
- Task export, notes, or a pasted bullet dump from the past 7 days
- Optional: last week's report, for continuity checks
- Optional: audience (manager, team, exec). Defaults to manager.
## Steps
1. Collect every item from the inputs. Don't filter yet.
2. Sort each item into Shipped, In Progress, Blocked, or Noise. Drop Noise.
3. Rewrite each Shipped item as an outcome: what changed and for whom. "Updated vendor sheet" becomes "Vendor sheet now shows Q4 pricing, so procurement can quote from it."
4. Give each In Progress item a target date. If the input has none, write [date?]. Never invent one.
5. For each Blocked item, name the blocker and the specific pCopy the full SKILL.md and drop it into your agent's skills directory to activate this skill.
